online journalists have all different ways to writes. for my opinions , i think online journalists need to know how to interpret the news exactly to the readers. it needs to keep readers attentive to it with new style of writing. there are even some news distributed to individuals via e-mails. online journalist able to uppate stories instantly and regularly. journalists can include related links to readers to get more chance to read more about a subject.

the writers and editors online must not only know how to best utilize the strengths of the medium but also must know their audience well and how is the best way to serve them. writers and editors needs to bring forth the whole story of the news to the audiences without dragging here and there. knowing how to be straight forward to the points yet audience will not be bored with the whole news.

editors will get their reporters to get stories done as quickly as possible so that the latest information can be posted immediately. that is the ability of online news. however, online news still strongly resemble to traditional print news.

now all newspaper are dealing with electronic print as well. it would be updated with every single breaking news compare to the newspaper print. the electronic print has involve with xml , html or java programming. electronic print nowadays have to go along with graphics , video or audio. not only that they also need to come out with simple and clean website to attract readers from their competitors.

online journalists is improving and as well in their skills. they need to knows how to generate everything to upload it into the internet as well some might need to know some multimedia skills. that is what they called convergent journalism with knowing everything and combine it producing the expectation for the readers.

xml , html , java programming or swf allows the journalists to upload graphics , video or audio and compiling it into a smaller file in order readers don’t have to wait for the downloading graphics , video and audio for a long time. this is due to different country have different speed of internet connections.

multimedia is involving in our daily lives. so , i think should at least need to know some skills for to keep ourselves running along the path in our community.

that is my understanding from reading the photosetting to XML.

as i read in the first topic it talks what are convergence. convergence is the combination of old and new media. that it’s what all about and we are living in these days.

it was discussing about mobile phones in current days. mobile phones has tremendous changes. i still remember the old days mobile phones are only taken by our parents but right now you are seeing every single one owns a mobile phones no matter how young they are. i’m not very sure how old though. i’ve heard before like kids 4 or 5 years old owns a mobile phones now. when i started using a mobile it’s only yellow color screen and not much function. however , it start changing into color screen. it goes on with camera with more function example video call , msn , news , email more and more function within the mobile phones. it is a portable devices with all function in it. just like owning a mobile phone as a mini-computer in it with music on , video clip. think whatever you can , the phone is getting there. it no longer just for ‘phone call’ but multi-purpose.

even mobile phone service providers will try to come up with new functions for users. every service provider are competing among themselves. for example last year for 3G company , on every sunday they got one hour free viceo call for their existing customers so by this technique they can attract more potential customers to sign with them. in australia , i’ve noticed a lot of international students are holding at least 2 phones. it is amazing how mobile phones makes an impact in our lives. admit it or not mobile phones have been part of our lives now.

mobile phones are like our social act as well. for us international students to communicate with our friends around the globe the cheapest is text message. none of us able to call everyone up daily. we can just send a text message to send regards with families and friends. it’s simply and cheap. it even able to communicate all around the globe. even a text message able to cheer up someone’s day !!! how impressive ….

i do have to admit mobile phones are important to me. it is with me all the time even i’m sleeping. that’s me …. seriously !!!
